Lake Thunderbird Deer Hunting Regulations
Dates:
Same as statewide deer archery season, which is from October 1st 2010 to Jan 15th 2011.
Remember that if your hunting license is only good until December 31st if you are an annual license holder. You tags however, a good until the end of the season.
Open Areas:
Portions of the upper end of the Littler River Arm, portion of the upper end of the Hog Creek Arm, portion of the upper end of the Blue Creek Arm, and a portion of the Clear Bay Arm (west side only),
Bag Limit:
Same as the statewide deer limit, which is 2 antlered, and 4 antler-less deer. Please remember that this is the total number you can take, and deer taken during gun, muzzleloader and archery all apply to this limit.
Clothing Requirements:
The clothing requirements are the same requirements that must be followed statewide. This means that you must wear orange during all firearm seasons. Youth gun is Oct. 15-17, 2010, muzzle loader is Oct. 23-31, 2010, gun is Nov. 20 - Dec 5, 2010, and holiday antlerless gun season is from Dec 17-26 2010.

- No Permanent stands are allowed. Only portable type stands (not requiring the use of any fastening device that has the potential of damaging a tree) are allowed. No vegetation is allowed to be cut for the contstruction of natural material stands
- You must check all deer at the nearest hunter check station or by a Department employee or authorized representative. You are also allowed to check your deer online.
- You must follow all provisions of the Oklahoma Hunting Regulations
- You must agree to show total respect for the state property and the surrounding landowners. Do not litter, deface property or violate any laws. Please remember that the ability for everyone to enjoy hunting here depends entirely on your conduct.
- You must park in a designated parking area shown on the map. You can get a map from the ranger station at Lake Thunderbird, or the Oklahoma Department of Wildlife.
- You must have a current parking permit in order to hunt.The permit is free of charge and will only be issued to people who have a valid hunting fishing or combination license. You can get your permit from the Lake Thunderbird State Park Office or the Oklahoma Department of Wildlife Conservation Central Office.
